Remote working, African style.

How about spending Lockdown in the African bush, combining work with horseback safaris?

There is work and there are holidays. At the moment the holidays seem a distant memory and work for many of us involves fighting for space, quiet and decent wifi within a crowded home. A walk around a muddy local park is as adventurous as it gets. But what if you could combine work with pleasure? Award winning African riding safari, Horizon Horseback has come up with an interesting alternative, especially if you love horse riding.

Horizon Horseback has been voted the Best Riding Safari in Africa over three of the past five years, thanks to a mix of high quality horses, luxury accommodation, bespoke service and a great variety of riding, sightseeing and fitness facilities.  With the travel market in mothballs, the Horizon team has created the ultimate ‘workation’ for a small number of long-stay guests at their ranches in South Africa or Botswana.  During this time they can integrate their passion for horse-riding and African discovery within their working day. The opportunity to combine Zoom meetings and spreadsheets with hippo and zebra spotting has to be the ultimate in remote working.

Their long stay workcation guests will enjoy a tailor-made itinerary that can be created entirely around their working day and time zone. Guests will be allocated private lodge office space with complimentary wifi, plus the opportunity to ride a wide range of different horses, take advantage of on-site keep fit sessions or simply relax by the pool.

The packages start at £100 per day based on a minimum stay of 29 days, offering the quality service and facilities for which the company is renowned at a significantly reduced rate – details are available on their website.

“Africa is a very special place, but Africa on horseback is truly magical.”
