We will gladly bid farewell to many lockdown time-fillers – please, no more Zoom quiz’s – but there is one activity that we will most definitely miss – TimsTwitterListeningParty.com. Like most great ideas, this is wonderfully simple. Since March, The Charlatans’ frontman – the immaculately coiffured Tim Burgess – invites music fans to listen-back to an album and join him and the recording artists on Twitter at 10pm for an evening of shared musical memories and questions. These listen and tweet-along events have become something of a lockdown institution.
Burgess gave an interview to the NME at the beginning of the project, when he described it as ‘a distraction from the news’ but that he also wanted to give music fans an insight into what goes into making an album.
