Tim’s listening party

Listen and tweet along to classic albums in the company of The Charlatans’ Tim Burgess.

We will gladly bid farewell to many lockdown time-fillers – please, no more Zoom quiz’s – but there is one activity that we will most definitely miss – TimsTwitterListeningParty.com. Like most great ideas, this is wonderfully simple. Since March, The Charlatans’ frontman  – the immaculately coiffured Tim Burgess – invites music fans to listen-back to an album and join him and the recording artists on Twitter at 10pm for an evening of shared musical memories and questions.  These listen and tweet-along events have become something of a lockdown institution.

Burgess gave an interview to the NME at the beginning of the project, when he described it as ‘a distraction from the news’ but that he also wanted to give music fans an insight into what goes into making an album.

He has created a Tim’s Listening Party Playlist on Spotify, featuring the best of the classic albums played over the past nine months:

To join Tim’s Twitter Listening Party, go to @LISTENING_PARTY on Twitter (obviously) and use the hashtag #TimsTwitterListeningParty.
