What better way to relax than with a seasonally inspired cocktail, devised for us by Adam Green of At The Chapel

Spiced Pear Martini_At The ChapelSo that was Christmas. Now it’s time to reward yourself with a reviving cocktail.

The Spiced Pear Martini has been devised especially for us by Adam Green, head barman and mixologist at Somerset bar, café and restaurant At The Chapel, the recipient of a Michelin Bib Gourmand among its many awards. “This is based on a popular cocktail I devised a few years back, but I’ve given it a festive twist,” says Adam.

Spiced Pear Martini

50ml Grey Goose La Poire

25ml fresh lime juice

25ml gomme

25ml apple juice

Half a muddled pear

Pinch of allspice

Served with cinnamon stick for garnish

To mix:

Adam says: “To muddle a pear, slice and dice the pear, put it in the bottom of a cocktail glass and squash it with your muddler, which releases the juice.

“Shake the vodka, lime juice, gomme, apple juice and allspice, then pour it over the muddled pear and garnish with a cinnamon stick.

“If you’d like a warm, mulled version, warm the apple juice first before adding to the other ingredients.”
