When our medical correspondent Jerome Burne co-authored The 10 Secrets of Healthy Ageing with Patrick Holford (see our report), we decided to celebrate the book’s launch, so we hosted a talk for high50 members at a prestigious London venue overlooking Hyde Park.

Now, in this video, filmed on the night, you can see Jerome explain some of his approaches to healthy ageing. And to coincide with the launch of Jerome’s new information-packed blog, Body of Evidence, you can exclusively view it above.

On his blog, through a raft of posts and previously published articles, Jerome investigates why there is still such a lack of evidence-based medicine, especially when it comes to conditions that affect us in later life.

For his high50 event, he held a conversation with the respected broadcaster Gill Pyrah (also Jerome’s wife, and his sternest critic). And in it, they explored some of the major themes of his book, before taking questions from a lively crowd of high50 members.

But on with the show. Watch Jerome explain his thoughts on: how simple measures can have dramatic effects on our health; our dependence on prescription drugs; the effectiveness of statins and more. Visit the newly updated Body of Evidence for more information.

And look out for more ground-breaking posts from Jerome, who will be back soon on the pages of high50 with more of his medical insights.
